Buying Pressure Is Back: Ethereum (ETH) Has $3K in Its Sights

  • Ethereum is currently holding at $2.6K.
  • ETH indicators confirm strong buying pressure.

Ethereum (ETH), the leading alternative cryptocurrency, has jumped roughly 5.6%. This marks a milestone not seen in nearly a month: closing a daily candle past $2,500. This chart now displays a clear breakout from its previous sideways channel.

At present, the token changes hands near the $2,644 mark alongside a volume of $22.215 billion. Over the past 24 hours, prices have moved between $2,495 and $2,652, while the 7-day span covers $2,361 to $2,652. Moreover, total liquidations across the ETH market reached $135.93 million.

The breakout still requires full confirmation, which calls for one more daily candle to close and sustain itself above $2,500. Even so, the driving force behind this surge is difficult to ignore. The upcoming daily close will determine whether this breakout solidifies or retreats back into the previous range.

Key Support and Resistance Levels of Ethereum

The primary resistance barrier to monitor stands at $2,680. Pushing past that threshold brings the $2,696–$2,719 zone into view. Moving beyond that, significant overhead resistance rests above $2,770, with $2,800 serving as the initial primary target should the breakout persist. A prolonged push higher paves the way toward the $3K psychological level.

Conversely, foundational support for Ethereum is located near $2,586, marking the initial line buyers must protect if the uptrend pauses. Slipping beneath this boundary puts the $2,500–$2,400 region back into play, which notably acted as a resistance ceiling for close to a month.

Momentum Builds for ETH as Indicators Signal Bull Control

Both the MACD and its signal lines reside above the zero line, pointing to a robust macro uptrend. This elevated positioning demonstrates that short-term bullish momentum is gathering speed within the broader trend. Such a dual-positive alignment verifies the presence of heavy buying pressure.

Furthermore, these metrics show that ETH bulls maintain a firm grip on the market, consistently pushing valuations upward. Market participants often interpret this setup as a high-probability trigger to hold long positions. Nevertheless, it remains crucial to watch for overbought signals that might indicate short-term exhaustion.

Ethereum’s daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits at 72.73, placing it squarely in overbought territory. This reflects how robust buying activity has driven prices upward throughout recent trading days. At the same time, this zone acts as an early caution sign that the asset may be temporarily overextended.

Traders are advised to exercise prudence when initiating fresh long positions. Although digital assets can sustain overbought conditions during strong rallies, these elevated levels raise the probability of a consolidation phase as momentum plateaus.
