Binance Lists Hyperliquid With Seed Tag as HYPE Price Pulls Back

  • Hyperliquid’s HYPE token has been introduced to the Binance spot market through HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY trading pairs.
  • The exchange has attached a Seed Tag to HYPE, necessitating a mandatory risk-awareness questionnaire for users prior to engaging in transactions.

Hyperliquid’s native HYPE token has officially joined the Binance spot trading platform, bringing the cryptocurrency to a major global exchange just as its valuation dips following a robust weekly performance.

As detailed in the official announcement from Binance, spot trading for HYPE commenced on September 24 at 11:00 UTC utilizing three specific pairs: HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY. The platform waived the BNB listing fee, and scheduled withdrawals for September 25 at 11:00 UTC. Participation in the HYPE/TRY market remains restricted to holders of verified Binance TR accounts.

Furthermore, Binance has categorized Hyperliquid with its Seed Tag. This label is reserved for emerging or novel projects that typically present increased volatility and risk compared to more established tokens. According to Binance, individuals wishing to trade assets bearing the Seed Tag on either the Spot or Margin networks are required to pass a risk-awareness assessment every 90 days and agree to the relevant terms before they can execute trades.

The platform additionally cautioned that because Hyperliquid is a relatively fresh asset, it may encounter significant price fluctuations. While spot algorithmic orders went live simultaneously with the market opening, Binance announced that Spot Copy Trading and Trading Bots would become active within 24 hours.

HYPE Price Pulls Back as Bitcoin and Crypto Market Retreat

Market metrics from CoinMarketCap place HYPE near $91, representing a roughly 4.91% decrease across the preceding 24 hours. The asset maintains a 24-hour trading volume near $1.28 billion alongside a market capitalization close to $22.84 billion, securing its position as the 10th largest cryptocurrency on CMC.

In parallel, real-time pricing data from Binance displays the altcoin changing hands near $90.33, with extremes reaching a 24-hour peak of $95.97 and a trough of $90.20. These minor discrepancies stem from ongoing market fluctuations and differing intervals for price capture.

Downward pressure on Hyperliquid preceded the launch of the Binance spot market amid a broader contraction across the digital asset sector. During the trading session, Bitcoin dropped under $84,000 following an earlier push toward nearly $87,300, dragging down several leading altcoins. Amidst this downturn, large-cap cryptocurrencies saw HYPE decline by about 5% to 6%, while Ethereum dropped more than 2.7% and XRP slid past 6%.

This market correction follows an aggressive rally for Bitcoin earlier in the week, ultimately imposing downward pressure on major digital assets and altcoins on Thursday.

Despite the 24-hour setback, HYPE retains a 15% gain over the trailing week. Historical records from CMC indicate the token finished at $85.06 on September 17 prior to advancing to a daily peak of $97.98 on September 23, ultimately closing that day at $93.97. This new integration with Binance supplies Hyperliquid with another prominent centralized market venue following its recent upward trajectory.
